Hello and welcome! If you are here, you probably have a curiosity about the world of technology, or perhaps you feel the need to better understand how the tools we use every day actually work.

Technology can often seem intimidating. We hear about the cloud, algorithms, privacy, hacking… and sometimes it feels like we are merely passengers on a train moving way too fast. My goal with this guide is to help you take the wheel back.

I am not a software engineer who has spent their life in research labs. I am just someone passionate, who has spent a lot of time tinkering, breaking things, and fixing them (often with difficulty). I have gathered here everything I wish I had known when I started taking a serious interest in tech.

What to Expect

We are going to explore many topics: from hardware to software, through networks, security, artificial intelligence, and the impact of all this on our society. You don’t need to read everything at once, nor apply everything immediately. Take what interests you, go at your own pace.
